Professor Law has more than 20 years of experience in Research and Development, especially in the areas of industrial drying, food and bioproduct processing, fluidised bed technology, food and bioproduct processing, food preservation, food quality, and food safety. She is one of the founding organisers of the annual Asia Pacific Family Business Symposium. More recently, she has explored innovative work behaviours and the management of non-family employees. She has also served as Course Director for the school’s PGT and PGR programmes.ĭr Ramos’ research covers areas of work psychology such as work-family conflicts, stress and burnout, and psychological ownership in family firms. In 2012, she obtained her Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE) from the University of Nottingham and is a Senior Fellow of the Advance HE (formerly UK HEA).ĭr Ramos joined the University in 2006 as an Assistant Professor in I/O Psychology and became an Associate Professor in 2013. She then completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology also at the Ateneo de Manila University. She has supervised 23 PhD students to successful completion.ĭr Ramos completed her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines Diliman before pursuing an MA in Counseling Psychology at the Ateneo De Manila University in the Philippines. ![]() She is currently working on projects in Mexico and Belize. She has published three books and > 100 papers in peer reviewed journals and contributed to a number of government scientific advisory group reports. Her research focuses on climate change and human – environment interactions across a range of timescales, focusing on tropical and sub-tropical environments (particularly the tropical Americas and circum-Caribbean) and air pollution (primarily in the UK). She is passionately committed to field teaching, convening a field-based 3rd year module in Mexico. Her teaching covers aspects of climatic and environment change, air pollution and techniques in Physical Geography. Professor Metcalfe is Professor of Earth and Environmental Dynamics in the School of Geography. ![]() She has twice served on the Council of the Royal Geographical Society and is currently on their Medals and Awards subcommittee. Since 2008, she has been a Visiting Research Associate at the British Geological Survey. She is a member of NERC National Environmental Isotope Facilities Steering Group. At Nottingham, she was head of the School of Geography from 2008 - 2011.Įxternally, she was chair of the NERC Isotope Geosciences Steering Committee 2005 - 2008 and has been chair of the NERC Radiocarbon Steering Committee (now NEIF Panel A) from 2019. Prior to joining the University of Nottingham in 2003, she was at the University of Edinburgh, where she was head of the Department of Geography. She has worked at HEIs across the UK and overseas, as well as at what is now the Research Complex at Harwell. Professor Metcalfe read Geography at the University of Cambridge and then completed a D.Phil. ![]()
